24 DAYS OF X-MAS / Last Minute

Okay folks, Christmas is just around the corner. And when I mean ‘just around the corner’, I actually mean that Christmas is in five days! It’s time for a last minute check to make sure we’re all set for this magical day. We’ve been waiting for it all year, now is not the time to mess something up.

Last Minute

Getting organized is the key to spend a great holiday but despite our best efforts, we might forget a little something or two. There is a lot to think about and it’s easy to get lost. I can’t even imagine the stress of being the parent of many kids. Santa and his companions would be quite helpful in a situation like that.

In today’s post I’m going to make sure you go through everything one more time before finally settling and enjoying.

The Gifts

Every year is the same, we try to get as organized as possible and then we realize we forgot to buy that book our nephew asked for Christmas. Worse even, the amazing kitchen kit you ordered for your own kid hasn’t arrived yet. Take a deep breath, it’s all going to be fine. The first thing I would recommend is to stay calm. If you have a delivery problem, whether your package got lost or delayed, it’s not your fault.

You can still order a little something as a second option, many websites are closing their Christmas orders on the 21st (which is tomorrow) with express delivery for a guaranteed Christmas delivery.

If you’re invited somewhere for Christmas and forgot to buy a little something, a Christmas card is an amazing idea. Receiving a sincere and personal note is always appreciated and some cards are truly good.

The Dishes

If you’re hosting this year, you have to make sure everything is ready. Whether it’s the plates you’re going to use, the roasted chicken you’re going to cook or the Christmas cookies you have to bake, please be certain you have everything. I don’t think anyone is prepared for a last-minute trip to the grocery store at this time of year. If you have to buy some ingredients, make sure to go before it’s too late.

It might sound silly but also count how many glasses, forks, knives and napkins you’ll need. It would be shame to have your dad eating in a bowl because you broke a plate last week.

The Decoration

If you planned on celebrating Christmas without a Christmas tree, it’s up to you. But if you didn’t, it’s time to get a move on. Did you check the lights? Are they all working? Is the Christmas tree still in good shape? If you see some of the lower branches go down a little, maybe remove a few ornaments already to make sure it will still be standing on the 25th. Water it as well, don’t forget it’s a tree, it lives and breathes.

Overall, it’s small details you need to check but it can make a whole lot of difference. I just want for you to have an amazing time!

Are you all set for Christmas?

  7. You know, it’s so funny because the plates were the first thing I purchased for the season, ahead of all the gifts, haha. I’m such a foodie and love to host at my home, so I was really excited to get that done. I’m finally able to say that I’ve purchased all the gifts, waiting on some to be delivered, but most are already wrapped and under the tree! Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
